Meet Our Herd!

At HOPE, every horse has a story. Some are here for a season of healing. Some are here for life. Some are waiting for the right person to see them and say, “That’s the one.”

Our herd is always changing — and that’s a beautiful thing.

Permanent Residents / Sanctuary Horses

The characters that provide love, laughter, consistency, compassion and company every day for all of us.

These are the horses who have found their forever home here with us. Due to age, chronic health needs, past injuries, special care requirements, or the kind of experience that makes placement unsafe or unkind for them, they are not available for adoption.

Sanctuary means security. It means routine, proper care, and no more transitions. These horses will live out their days here surrounded by consistency, compassion, and the dignity they deserve.

While they are not adoptable, they are always part of the heart of HOPE and our educational activities — and they are available for sponsorship, visits, and plenty of love.

Recovering / Recuperating

These friends are still healing and receiving care before they are able to be adopted.

Some horses arrive thin. Some arrive sore. Some arrive unsure of hands, halters, or kindness.

This is the tender middle, where ribs slowly disappear under good feed, hooves are trimmed back into balance, wounds are treated, and wary eyes begin to soften. It’s early mornings, late-night checks, vet calls, farrier visits, and the quiet, steady work of rebuilding trust one gentle interaction at a time.

Healing takes time. Physically and emotionally. While they recover, we focus on restoring weight, strength, confidence, and dignity. We evaluate each horse carefully and patiently, never rushing a timeline.

Some will grow strong and steady enough to move into adoptive homes. And sometimes, when it’s in a horse’s best interest, that journey leads to permanent sanctuary instead.

There is nothing quick about this part of rescue. But there is something deeply powerful about watching a horse begin to believe they are safe.

Ready for Adoption

These wonderful friends are waiting for you!

When a horse is sound, stable, and ready for a new chapter, we begin searching for the right home.

We prioritize long-term fit over quick placement. Every adoption is thoughtful and intentional, because the goal is forever, not just a change of address.

Availability can change quickly, so the best way to learn about adoptable horses is to contact us directly.

Adopted

. . . and they lived happily ever after.

Our greatest joy is watching a HOPE horse land exactly where they belong. While these horses may leave our pastures, they remain forever part of our story.

Their success is why we do what we do.
